Notes from my journal….
The longing for another adventure. The longing to explore. To discover somewhere new and wild. To be alive and experience all of life, breaking free from the constraints of home. Breaking free from what other people expect of me.
Daily messaging of ….. Stay at home, stay at home, stay at home.
My home is????__________In Nature.
In the sea, in the forests, amongst the trees, lakes and mountains. That is my home. Learning, reconnecting, exploring, speaking with nature. A wild woman amongst the wild of nature.
A living being amongst other living beings. Not a living being boxed in, plugged into all things artificial and human.
My nature is out in nature!

Nature in relation to your emotions (internal nature):
Below is a basic list of emotions or felt experiences, ask yourself either;
When I am feeling __________(listed emotion/experience) I go to ‘this’ place
OR when I go to this place it brings on a feeling of ___________(listed emotion/experience)
This is just a short exercise to help you see the connection between our environment and our internal environment. It’s not a trick question…. answers may seem simple. But like a lot of things they are not always obvious until we connect the dots.
- Calmness
- Angry/frustrated
- Sadness
- Overwhelmed
- Excitement
- Nervous
- Distraction/distracted
- Fear – afraid, scared, frightened
- Boredom
Forests + Mountains Flower petals + patterns Leaf spotting The sound and visuals of waves Cloud formations + sun-ray showers
A couple of my own examples in case you need a prompt….
When I think of a sense of calm, I think of the sea/ocean. When I want to feel a sense of calmness I go to the beach and watch and listen to the water.
If I am feeling overwhelmed….I like to walk to the gardens and pay attention to detail and intricacy of flowers. It helps me zoom in on the present moment and the overwhelmed feeling subsides. I also go somewhere that I think will be quiet, or I put my headphones on!
Summary:
We are a part of nature, not separate from it.
Experiencing nature is similar to experiencing our true selves.
